first piece of granite, pulls, we hope flooring will finish soon, chipping away at electrical and we love the stone

Joseph was out of town for a week and we really, really missed him! We still went up to the house after church to see what changed

They fixed the hood!

We love the shelves! Soon there will be a mantle too!

Tile floor is in!

shower floor is in!

Sara is testing out our new pantry

Elijah is testing out our lights! Turning lights on has never felt so magical!

Next day, our super trim guys installed the mantle

and.....

The music room cabinets! Hurray!

here is the infamous pantry door. Someone cried tears over a pantry door. Don't ask me who ;)

I'm including this picture just so it can reawaken the emotions related to the pantry door

The next day we picked where we want the vanity cut out of the granite. This was such a hard choice because there was sooo much about this slab that we loved!

And we have wonderful visitors! This picture makes our short room look short.

Sara helps with everything in our house =)

so glad we put rock over the door!

so glad it's not as muddy as before!

On Saturday, I met a paint specialist up at the house. On Evan's suggestion, I called Sherwin Williams and they are just about to start an on-site paint design team.. well I offered to be a practice session for them and am soo glad we could have their help! Seeing these paint samples taped to the house makes me laugh because they all just look the same, don't they?

more paint chip testing. This is a science.

The tile moves slowly up the wall

a shower seat!

Two cousins playing in the hobbit hole

Joseph installed our first appliance =)

let there be light!

exterior trim is almost done! And no, this is not the color of the house =)

Thank you Alisha and Annagreth for the follow up paint session!

floors prep-ed (and waiting.....) for flooring

cement board is just about finished, rock is close!

And pulls in the kitchen! So fun!

Elijah is a handy electrician!  He wired up all the outlets in the family room

At first he was being paid by the hour.. but when Joseph offered him a fixed amount per receptacle, all of a sudden Elijah was a much faster electrician. ;)

hurray for stone inside the house!

The counters in the master bathroom are in! Hurray!

I wish I could have watched them bring this inside and up the stairs- it is all one piece!

Next week: we are hoping for more stone in the laundry and tub deck. We are hoping for cabinets in the bathrooms, we are hoping for FLOORING and framers to finish the garage roofs. We are pretty much done picking the big things (even carpet is ordered!) but it seems there is always another detail to iron out. Eventually we will live here instead of just thinking about living here!!
