RAIL! RAIL! RAIL! RAIL!

We love our rail!! Thank you Zeke and Ethen!!!

Did I mention the three day blizzard that spanned their four days here? The first day the truck only made it half way up the hill so Joseph, Zeke and Ethen hiked up the rest with their 50 lb suitcase of tools. In the snow storm. So the next day 4 wheelers served as transportation for Zeke and Ethen. Here they are leaving for work in the morning. They worked 12-14 hour days to finish our rail in time. THANK YOU Zeke and Ethen!!!

I've brought lunch up to the house many times now for people who are helping us build this house, but this past blizzard brought lunch service to a whole new level. Here I am about to leave with lunch for our hard workers.

Doors, a pantry and some shelves

Joseph hung all our doors for us! Now I'll give him a kiss every time I open a door AND every time I turn on a light.

We also had this man in there working!

Walking by with a door.
Though I don't have photographic evidence, thank you to Jacob and Andrew for their clever, creative muscles to move the double doors downstairs!!

Here is the beginning of the pantry! I won't forget the first time I used a chop saw. Yikes. Thank you teacher Joseph! I've always wanted to cut wood and build things!

It took a few nap times to make this project move along

And a few afternoons of playing in the snow the house while I worked inside.

It kind of looks like they are praying towards Mecca, ha.

On this day, Grace came with me and took her nap there. =)

More Doors!

And they covered up the slide! We miss it. We wish we could still go down it, but so far no one has succeed in climbing back up sooooo if anyone goes down they might be stuck for a long long time. =)

they delivered wood for our trim! yay! Now we just have to stain it all....

 Upstairs closets...

Grace did not think this was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

all ready to be painted!

It snowed in the garage. hmm.

 It also snowed outside.
The snow pile up around the porta potty gives you an idea of how much it snowed. It will take a very motivated individual to get into that potty....

Drywall-ito Comple-ito!

Taping and mudding is finished! Jed said the dry-wall-ers worked late into the night multiple times to finish it so quickly. Late nights up there is becoming a trend...

Now that dry wall stage is complete, we need to have a the built-ins finished before the painter is scheduled to come in the end of January. So...commence more late nights.

Sometimes we dance in our new house.

Quick stop after church = a pile of drywall powder coated church clothes.

Lots and lots and lots of snow... One day I'm sure we will have an exterior. Until then, the stone pallets are a great way to measure how much snow has fallen.

Check out our icicle collection!

not sure if the slide will ever get old.

They did close the slide off today though!!  =/

 dance lessons.

and here are......

.....our cabinets!! They finished them today! Hurray!

HEATWAVE!

Here is our house from the Delaney's hill.

and we love the view

The slide is IN! Thanks to Joseph!
After New Year's party, Joseph and I went up to the house at 1am. I took the opportunity to go down the slide for the first time and decided it IS worth all the headache to put a slide in a house. I might have yelled the whole way down. It's kind of fast! Or maybe I'm just out of practice riding slides. Either way, so fun. sososososo fun!

Another view of our house. We don't have many neighbors yet.

This is the really cool process to get all our shingles on top of the roof. Since it has been snowing since this, the roof is still awaiting her shingles.

After drywall hanging comes drywall corner bead-- the grey stuff on the corners!

Somehow I don't have any pictures of mudding the walls- they put the house at 80 degrees inside to dry out the mud and to make family excursion up to the house much more enjoyable. They will be working on that for the next three weeks.

We also have our own personal guardrail now! But you can use it when you come visit. =)

This is for you Joshua.

And we have the kitchen sink!

In the meantime, we are hoping to make a final choice on wood floors. They started working on our cabinets (yay!) and if it ever warms up, they can start on exterior rock. We bought all our stair rail parts and Zeke will come build that for us the last week of January. In the meantime, it is surreal to visit a warm house! hurray!
