Sealing the Foundation

So I'm learning that there are really EXCITING CHANGES to the work site up there and then there are exciting changes to the work site up there. =)

Digging a hole, pouring concrete, and I'm sure framing the house are all EXCITING!!

Sealing the foundation and roughing in the plumbing are exciting. So, here are the exciting pictures:

smearing the tar on. at least I think it is tar. =)

starting to back fill, which for construction illiterate folk like me, means pushing the dirt back up against the foundation of the house.

We spent a large portion of this past week dealing with a few door changes that we are just tickled pink over. The engineer of the house told us we can not have the full size door we were asking for without moving into steel moment frame (12-20K) since the house is pushed to the limit of 'holes.' I am thrilled to hear that since windows are my favorite part. =)

We celebrated that the plumber came to do his step early which means we will be ready for big back fill and compacting at the start of next week.

Week after that, flat work. (concrete floors and garage)

Week following that, beginning of FRAMING!! EXCITING!!
