It is very exciting to build this house we've planned ourselves!
But for your sake, I will withhold on the CAPS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!
Okay, so Thursday July 8, Jed had his concrete guys setting all the molds at 7 am. Joseph and Elijah hopped up there to check it out and Elijah got to help out!
Look closely, can you see what Elijah is doing?
He was very excited to help out.
I took the kids back around 11. The pump truck was there but not the concrete trucks yet.
Why are pump trucks so cool!?
Elijah and Henry were very disappointed that they could not help this time. Jed told me that Henry came up to him and asked him what he could do to help. When Jed said his guys have it under control, Henry started selling his good qualities. "I'm really good at hammering and hitting things and...and...(pointing over to the closest worker) doing what he is doing!"
When Joseph went back up at 12:30, they were pouring the footings!
We went back that afternoon to inspect and celebrate!!! =)
This higher part (in forefront of the picture) is the garage. The closed off square off to the right is the cold storage in the basement and the front porch on the main level.
Next up: pouring walls! (the only sad part... this will probably be in two weeks since the wall guys are booked up... but we are still soooo excited to have something! hurray!)
