kitchen counters! And amazing child labor!

hurray! straight from China, it only took 2000 hours of coordination. sigh.

Each step of watching the box be unwrapped was so exhilarating, so I've reproduced it in picture form here =)

brand new counters!

neighborhood moose

hurray!

stone sills are in!

by the way, we think it is hilarious that several people have asked if this is the color of the house. This is not the color of the house, but it is the color of pre-painted boards they had in stock which helped bring the price down a bit. =) We will be painting them all the same color eventually.

they finished hanging the rock and will finish grouting next week

Hopefully we will have bathroom cabinets and their countertops in next week! Hopefully the basement bathroom will eventually be floored, sigh. Hopefully the exterior vinyl guys will come fix the several spots they goofed on. Hopefully I'll survive picking exterior paint color. Hopefully rock walls will be built soon and hopefully the ground will be dry enough that we can put a septic system in... and hopefully we can move in on May 1. =)

My favorite part of this week of house building was definitely Joseph's electrical crew. Yesterday the boys worked from 10am-5pm putting in 53 receptacles in the whole upstairs! Today they finished the basement! Elijah stripped the wires, Isaac put the receptacle in, Henry was the tool man and Joseph was the task master. What a great crew! We were *shocked* at how hard they worked. =)
